Oh nifty--would you mind if I featured your December draw off on a Dreamwidth promotion community dreamlight? If I can, is there anything you want me to know about for describing it?
You can if you like. I don't have much to say about my December Draw-off other than it's a self-challenge design to kick myself out of a stagnant period. The idea of Nanowrimo intrigues me, but since I don't write, I thought about doing the drawing equivalent.
The rules for myself are simple:
Draw something every day, once a day, for a month.
Subject matter is open. It can be anything from a still life sketch, an abstract doodle to fanart. Just whatever comes to mind.
It can be any medium, analog or digital.
Scan (or export) it and post it publicly; with an optional description by the end of each day. If I don't have access to a scanner, the missed image(s) will be posted on the next day.
The idea is to squeeze some time in my busy schedule to crap out the fruits of ideas quickly instead of letting them stagnate in my head. One of my creative blocks is overthinking an idea and ruminating on the execution until I don't have the energy to draw or design anything. Or "the moment" passes and I don't feel so inclined to do anything about it. Then I end up forgetting what I wanted to draw in the first place and :(
SHORT VERSION: I have always been at war with procrastination >>>>:(
